Drake’s latest song has sparked controversy online over its authenticity.

A new song attributed to the Canadian rapper, 37, called Drop and Give Me 50 leaked on Saturday, with lyrics so scathing against artists like Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd and more that fans questioned whether it was created by artificial intelligence.

The former actor reportedly first responds to Kendrick, 36, who criticized Drake in a guest verse on the album We Don’t Trust You in March, as the song criticizes the Grammy winner’s physical stature and suggests that his pop collaborations have caused him to lose his edge.

“Maroon 5 need a cover, it better be clever,” the alleged Drake raps. “So we need a verse for the Swifties.”

The Weeknd (real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye), 34, who also replaced Drake on We Don’t Trust You, is next in line, as Drake sings, ‘Cash Blowin’ Abel Bread, Out Here Trickin’/ S*** We do it for the bitches and he does it for the blacks.

Fans quickly flooded social media with comments about Drop and Give Me 50’s credibility.

A fan posted the song with the caption ‘AI Drake’s diss track vs. Kendrick Lamar, Future, Metro Boomin, Rick Ross, The Weeknd.’ If this is not AI, everyone is cooked.”

Another chimed in: “The fact that no one can tell if it’s real or if it’s AI says a lot about Drake’s music, but that’s maybe for another time.”

Another fan commented: “Drake is smart, if everyone likes the diss he will claim it, if not he will say it’s AI and go back to the studio.”

Drake has remained silent about whether he is behind Drop and Give Me 50, although he posted a photo on his IG of people about to react.

The photo, however, was shared before the song came out.

The Weeknd seemingly responded to the song by sharing an image of himself laughing and eating popcorn, as if to say he’s simply a bystander to all the drama unfolding.

The current controversy highlights a recurring concern: the use of artificial intelligence to imitate Drake’s voice and style.

This issue previously gained attention when the Recording Academy disqualified an AI-generated Drake song from Grammy consideration, underscoring its prevalence in the industry.

The drama seemed to heat up in March, when Kendrick dissed Drake and J. Cole on the song Like That from Future and Metro Boomin’s album We Don’t Trust You.

Lamar took multiple lyrical jabs at both Drake and J Cole, furiously rapping the standout line: “Damn the big three, black, it’s just me big.”

The line was apparently a direct response to a bar Cole dropped in his collaboration with Drake called First Person Shooter.

‘I love it when they argue about the hardest MC / Is it K. Dot? [Kendrick]? Is it Aubrey? [Drake]? Or me? / Us, the big three, it’s like we started a league,” J Cole said.

Lamar didn’t miss the opportunity to take another swipe at Champagne Papi, cleverly referencing the title of his latest album, For all the Dogs.

‘Before they bury all your dogs/ That’s a K with all these nines, go see Pet Sematary. Wow!’

Following the Compton rapper’s tirade towards his two bandmates, J Cole released a response track titled Seven Minute Drill.

During the song, he criticized Kendrick for seeking attention, stating that the Poetic Justice rapper had fallen “like The Simpsons.”

Calling Lamar’s most recent album, Mr Morale and the Big Steppers, “tragic,” Cole warned his colleague to put aside the name-calling.

However, it was two days later that the rapper seemingly came forward to apologize for his displeasure, calling it the “dumbest” and “dumbest” song he’s ever made.

Praising Good Kid Mad City’s catalog of artists, Cole apologized when he took the stage at the Dreamville Festival in North Carolina.

“I’m not going to lie to you, the last two days felt terrible,” he told the crowd.

Although Metro has recently dispelled rumors about tensions between the two, fans have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to share their hilariously surprised reactions to J Cole appearing on the duo’s new song due to his friendship with Drake.

Photoshopping Drake’s face onto the body of a disgruntled Thanos, one joked: “Drake after seeing J Cole is on the Metro and Future album.”
