Dragon Age: Absolution is a new anime on Netflix
Dragon Age, BioWare’s D&D-inspired franchise, is getting a brand new six-episode anime on Netflix. Dragon Age: Absolution is a new show set in the previously unseen Tevinter Imperium.
Not much is known about the show yet. It is produced by Red Dog Culture House and the showrunner is Mairghread Scott. She previously worked on a number of Transformers animated shows and the animated Guardians of the Universe show. We know it’s being made in conjunction with BioWare, who announced the title of the next Dragon Age game last week, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf† Like with dreadwolf, the cast, characters and even the plot of Absolution are currently unknown.
What we do know is that it is set in the Tevinter Imperium. Tevinter is a much talked about and never seen realm of magicians. It’s the game’s oldest nation in the world, so it’s a mystery what time period the show is set in. But it seems that in addition to humans, there are also a lot of elves and Qunari. And given that it’s set in a land run by mages, it’s no surprise that there’s a lot of magic in the trailer (although the elf in the promotional art gives off some strong rogue vibes).
Dragon Age: Absolution will air in December 2022 and hopefully we’ll know a little more about the show by then.
