British RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage joined Perrie Edwards and Ashley Roberts to lead major tributes to The Vivienne, who won the UK series of the show in 2019, following her tragic death aged 32 .
News of the talented drag performer’s passing was announced via social media on Sunday. A cause has not yet been established.
Sharing photos of herself alongside Vivienne, whose real name is James Lee Williams, Michelle wrote a heartfelt tribute to “her angel.”
She wrote: ‘Heartbreaking, I don’t know how to say what I feel. My dear @thevivienne, we go back to when I started coming to the UK. You were always there, always laughing, always giving, always on point.’
‘Your laugh, your wit, your talent, your drag. I loved everything but I loved your friendship most of all. You were a lighthouse for many. Watching you make your West End debut was incredible for me to witness your dream come true in front of my eyes.”
‘I am the lucky one to have met you and to have laughed with you so many times. I love you my love. We will miss you very much my love. May your light shine fiercely, forever. RIP MY ANGEL, fly high.’

The news was announced in a statement from The Vivienne’s rep, Simon Jones PR, on Instagram, to which Little Mix’s Perrie responded with a series of broken heart emojis.
Meanwhile, Pussycat Doll star Ashley shared the statement, commenting: “This is devastating news, absolutely horrible, RIP Queen Viv.”
She later captioned a photo of her and The Vivienne in happier times writing: “The world lost an angel, rest in peace.”
Dancing on Ice’s Oti Mabuse, who judged The Vivienne as a contestant during 2023, shared his heartfelt tribute.
‘Some news hits you harder than others and stops you in your tracks. I loved Viv. A beautiful human being.’
And he continued: ‘Funny, kind, pioneering, creative and very warm. You were a great asset to Dancing On Ice, one of Drag Race’s greatest and a phenomenal performer on screen and stage. Rest in peace’.
