It was a difficult situation for the beachgoers who narrowly escaped a landslide that occurred just a few meters from their 4×4.
Footage posted on social media showed sand, rocks and trees falling from a cliff on Saturday afternoon at Double Island Point, just north of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
“I came a little close today at Double Island,” Riley Stone captioned the video on Instagram.

It comes after the same beach was closed due to landslides in January.
The cliff, about 70 meters high, collapsed and blocked access to the beach for two days.
The Department of Environment, Parks and Innovation has warned visitors to avoid standing, sitting or parking near the base of the dunes.
Traveling to the beach three hours on either side of high tide is not recommended.
