Doritos Australia has announced the launch of a new range of crisps that are sure to delight fans across the country.

The new Doritos XXL are 30 percent larger and crispier than standard Doritos chips.

Packed with flavour, this tasty treat will be available in four different flavours – Ultimate Cheddar, Inferno Chilli & Lime, Smokehouse BBQ and Tangy Salsa – starting Wednesday 24th July.

The latest offering is said to be a “bolder snacking experience” and fans can get it for $4.80 at Coles stores and independent retailers.

Kat Miller, Senior Brand Manager, Doritos ANZ, PepsiCo, said: “Doritos XXL is all about delivering a snacking experience that is out of the ordinary. We want to offer a snack that is not only satisfying, but also exciting.

‘This new range takes everything people love about Doritos and takes it to the next level, with bigger XXL chips, an incredible crunchy texture and even bolder flavours.

‘We are confident that this new range will provide the intense snacking experience that potato chip lovers are looking for.’

This comes after the brand launched the bold coffee flavour on July 3, which divided opinions.

Described by the chip makers as “the perfect pick-me-up to combat the 3 p.m. slump,” the coffee flavor announced Wednesday is sure to catch the attention of fans.

The snack combines the delicious aromatic flavor of coffee with the characteristic crunch of Doritos, but has already caused a stir among those who have tried it.

Several intrigued Australians who managed to get their hands on the chips early on shared their honest opinion, with many disapproving.

“Yuck! Yuck, sorry Doritos,” said one woman after screwing up her face. She gave the limited edition flavor a zero out of ten.

“What is that? It’s not even a one (out of ten). It’s horrible. Coffee? Why?” said one man after trying the French fry for the first time.

“Honestly, it’s the worst thing I’ve ever tasted. It tastes like cardboard with spilled coffee on it,” she said after her second fry.

A third screwed up her face and said: “Not for me.”

Most tasters gave the snack a two, but a few announced that it “deserves a seven.”

A select few did not dislike the sweet taste of the coffee that much, but were unsure whether they would buy it.

“Wow, that’s kind of sweet,” one woman said.
