'Doom: The Dark Ages' and 4 more Summer Game Fest announcements that excite us

Now that E3 is completely dead, Summer Game Fest has taken on its role as the go-to event for big video game release announcements. Last weekend’s Game Fest was a success, with companies from Microsoft to horror studio Blumhouse sending bosses to Los Angeles to show off new gear and new titles.

News from the event came in all sizes, from quick previews of games that don’t yet have release dates, to console updates and official entries for beloved series. If you missed the weekend event, don’t worry. We have the most interesting ads here for you.

Blumhouse to release 6 (!!!) horror games

Blumhouse’s gaming division is cooking. The publisher has six horror titles on the way, including projects from indie studio Half Mermaid, which made Immortality and His storyand currently works with Brandon Cronenberg. He’s also working with Eyes Out, the developer founded by Cory Davis (Special Operations: The Line) and Robin Finck of Nine Inch Nails.

During his presentation on Friday, the editor revealed Fear the spotlight, melting pot, Idol theater, serious seasons, sleep awake, The simulationand Project C via a two-minute video: The trailer was short, but the programming looks quite promising.

TO Condemn Prequel

Bethesda and Id Software release a 2016 prequel Condemn and its follow-up in 2020, eternal damnation. An origin story called Doom: The Middle Ages, the game has a more fantasy feel (they added chainsaw blades to a shield!), but still seems to have all the firepower of previous iterations. And blood. Maybe a dragon too? Believe?
