Kai, 17, delivered what may have been the most emotional words of the evening, becoming the first of the former president’s grandchildren to speak out about the assassination attempt that nearly cost him his life.
“A lot of people put my grandfather through hell, and he’s still standing,” she told thousands of cheering Republican delegates. “Grandpa, you are such an inspiration and I love you.”
Kai’s father, Donald Trump Jr., beamed with pride as she praised the side of President Trump that “people don’t often see.”
No one in the audience, however, could have been more pleased than Grandpa Trump.

“To me, he’s a normal grandpa,” Kai said. “He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking. He always wants to know how we’re doing in school. When I made the honor roll, he told his friends how proud he was of me.”

She is reportedly being recruited to play at the college level and her goal, she says, is to turn professional.
“Golf has always been an important part of my life and is my greatest passion,” he wrote on his personal website, which includes a video featuring highlights of his play on the course.
