Donald Trump’s eldest granddaughter Kai has revealed that she has already committed to playing golf at the collegiate level.

Kai, the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa, is set to enter her junior year at the Benjamin School, a prestigious high school that charges $37,000 a year, but she already has her next steps planned.

The 17-year-old, an avid golfer, took to Instagram on Sunday to announce that she has verbally committed to the University of Miami. It is unclear whether she will attend on an athletic scholarship.

“I want to thank my mom, Vanessa, and my dad, Don, for always supporting me on my journey. I also want to thank my great team for helping me get to this point,” she wrote alongside several photos of herself on the Miami campus making the school’s iconic “U” gesture.

The teenager has long shared her grandfather’s passion for the sport and is regarded as the most prominent golfer in the Trump dynasty – something she now appears poised to fulfil.

Kai, whose Instagram and YouTube accounts are dedicated to the game, won the women’s club championship at her grandfather’s golf course in Palm Beach, Florida, and has played with some of the game’s biggest stars.

And she credited the former president with helping her achieve her college goal.

“I would like to thank my grandfather for giving me access to excellent courses and tremendous support,” he added.

“I would also like to thank my entire family for always encouraging me and pushing me to be the best person I can be. I would like to thank my friends for always cheering me on,” she continued.

‘Last but not least, I would like to thank Coach Janice and Coach Jim for giving me this opportunity. I am so excited to be a Cane and represent the University of Miami. Go Canes!’

Kai, who gained popularity when she stole the spotlight at the Republican National Convention, previously admitted that her 78-year-old grandfather still manages to beat her.

During a video of her playing with YouTube personality Grant Horvat last month, a week after her grandfather set the internet alight in a video of his own with Bryson DeChambeau, Kai was asked who usually wins matches between the two and she admitted that while they’re usually close, the former president usually gets over the line.

She said: ‘I watched half of it (DeChambeau’s video) because I was working out. It was amazing. It was crazy.

“The truth is that I always struggle. It’s quite difficult.”

He has also shared the journey with his grandfather, as a teammate rather than an opponent.

They were part of a Pro-Am team ahead of the controversial LIV golf tournament at Trump’s Doral course in Florida.

Kai played alongside his uncle Eric Trump, Sergio Garcia, US PGA champion Brooks Koepka and a supporting cast of Secret Service agents.

And the talented youngster won’t be far from her family — and her grandfather’s golf courses — when she finally leaves the nest to join the University of Miami golf team and hit the fairways at The Biltmore, a golf club located roughly nine miles from Trump’s Doral golf course in Miami.

Kai’s nearly 260 years of drive and dedication to the sport helped her earn the position of varsity captain at the Benjamin School, which Tiger Woods’ son Charlie also attends.

Kai claims on his Instagram page to be part of Callaway Next, “the next generation of Callaway Tour Pros.”

Her longest drive is said to have been 275 yards. Only 14 LPGA players averaged more yards in 2023.

She has played with power-hitting DeChambeau, Swedish pro Daniela Holmqvist, two-time world long-drive champion Kyle Berkshire and other promising youngsters.

Kai met Woods and fellow major winners Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed.
