Kai Trump made his first campaign speech on the big national stage of the Republican Convention on Wednesday, where he hinted at a future in politics.
Donald Trump Jr. gave up his microphone time to let his 17-year-old daughter take over for a few minutes, claiming she called him Monday to ask him to speak after the assassination attempt on her grandfather’s life.
Former President Donald Trump’s eldest granddaughter made her first foray into the campaign trail with her remarks in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she “shared a side of my grandfather that people don’t often see.”
His first major political appearance came just four days after the assassination attempt on the former president.
“I was in shock on Saturday when I heard he had been shot and I just wanted to know if he was okay. It was heartbreaking that someone would do that to another person,” Kai said.
“A lot of people put my grandfather through hell, and he’s still standing,” she told thousands of Republican delegates and party members. “Grandpa, you are such an inspiration.”

Trump beamed as he continued his remarks with his father standing on stage.
At one point, he looked over at North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, sitting next to him, and appeared to say of his granddaughter, “She’s good!”
“He always encourages me to be the most successful person I can be,” Kai said of the former president.
“It’s clear that he sets the bar very high,” he continued, laughing. “But who knows, maybe one day he’ll reach it.”
Kai took the stage Wednesday morning to share how the evening would unfold. She was joined by the event’s producers and her parents, Don Jr. and his ex-wife, Vanessa.
She took the stage before her father finished his remarks. And Trump’s newly named running mate, Sen. JD Vance, and his wife Usha rounded out the Republican Convention lineup on Wednesday.

“He always encourages me to be the most successful person I can be,” Kai said of the former president before hinting at a future in politics: “Obviously, he sets the bar very high. But who knows, maybe one day I’ll reach it.”
Kai is the eldest of Trump’s 10 grandchildren and was in the spotlight during his first term in the White House.
The teenager attended the presidential inauguration in 2017 and the White House Easter egg hunt. Earlier this month, she attended a Trump rally at her grandfather’s club in Doral, Florida, along with some of her siblings and her father.
On Wednesday, he will make his debut on the national stage in prime time.
She will not be able to vote in November because she will not become an adult until May 2025.
Kai is also a golfer and has a YouTube page dedicated to his time on the course.
She is only 17 years old, but she is already considered the most outstanding golfer of the Trump dynasty.
Kai has won the women’s club championship at her grandfather’s golf course in Palm Beach, Florida, and has played with some of the game’s biggest stars.

The teenager, daughter of Donald Jr and his ex-wife Vanessa, claims on her Instagram page to be part of Callaway Next, “the next generation of Callaway Tour Pros.”
Her longest drive is said to have been 275 yards. Only 14 LPGA players averaged more yards in 2023.
She has played with power-hitting Bryson DeChambeau, Swedish pro Daniela Holmqvist, two-time world long-drive champion Kyle Berkshire and other promising youngsters.
He also shared the course with his ‘grandfather’.
They were part of a Pro-Am team ahead of the controversial LIV golf tournament at Trump’s Doral course in Florida.
Kai played alongside his uncle Eric Trump, Sergio Garcia, US PGA champion Brooks Koepka and a supporting cast of Secret Service agents.
