Donald Trump WOULD BEAT Joe Biden in the presidential election if it were held now, in a poll that also shows Vivek Ramaswamy poised to overtake DeSantis

Date:

Donald Trump would win incumbent President Biden to the White House if the race were held now, a new poll has shown.

new findings in a Harvard–Harris survey released Friday show Trump would beat Biden in a head-to-head matchup by five percentage points.

The new findings also show that Vivek Ramaswamy is hot on the heels of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is up eight points in the polls and trails only two behind DeSantis.

Trump would also beat Vice President Kamala Harris if she ran and entered the race by an even greater margin of 7 percent, according to polls.

The former president is also well ahead of winning the Republican presidential primary, despite the rise of Ramaswamy.

The new poll suggests that if an election were held now, former President Trump, on the right, would beat incumbent Biden, on the left, by 5 percent.

His poll, which polled 2,068 registered voters, also showed a broad sense of discontent across the country with the candidates of the two main parties, with 70 percent looking for another option.

Most of the people surveyed also agreed that President Biden was not mentally fit to continue serving as president.

Fifty-nine percent of people agreed they had doubts about his fitness for office, and the majority were Republican voters, 85 percent.

There was also broad agreement in the polls that Biden was showing that he is too old to be president, with more than two-thirds, 68 percent, agreeing that he was too old.

If the GOP primary falls between DeSantis and Trump, polls suggest the former president would win in a landslide with 63 percent of the vote.

Outside of the main political candidates in the upcoming elections, the survey also asked people about their favoritism towards political figures.

Top of this poll was Robert F. Kennedy Jr, who scored 47 percent favorable, with 26 percent unfavorable.

Second on the list was Donald Trump, who achieved a favorable rating of 45 percent, but a higher unfavorable rating of 49 percent.

New questions have been raised about Biden’s fitness for office after a series of high-profile blunders.

It comes after polls released earlier this month by Echelon Insights found that 48 percent of voters in swing states would back Trump in next year’s ballot.

The pollsters, who interviewed 1,020 voters for the study, said only 41 percent would support Biden over the former president.

But in a head-to-head national poll, Echelon found Biden just ahead of Trump by 45 percent to 44 percent.

The Echelon Insights poll found that 60 percent of likely Democratic voters said they would “definitely” or “probably” back Biden in a Democratic presidential primary.

Another 33 percent responded that they would choose to endorse a different Democratic candidate, and 7 percent said they weren’t sure.

The Echelon Insights poll was conducted with 1,020 likely voters between June 26 and June 29, with a margin of error of +/- 3.9 percentage points.

The president was able to win the 2020 election after flipping the swing states of Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.

Last month, a poll suggested that the swing state of Pennsylvania had turned on Trump.

With 20 Electoral College votes and a tendency to alternate between elections, Pennsylvania is one of the crucial states in determining who wins the presidency.

After voting for Trump in 2016, Pennsylvania turned blue for Biden in 2020.

The Quinnipiac poll said 47 percent of voters in Pennsylvania would vote for the former president, while 46 percent would back the current commander-in-chief.
