Donald Trump makes dramatic announcement about his 2028 presidential bid

Donald Trump has revealed that he will probably not run for president in 2028 if he loses the election to Vice President Kamala Harris.

The 78-year-old former president said ‘Full Measure’ with Sharyl Attkisson in an interview that aired Sunday that he does not see himself running another campaign if he does not win the White House in November.

“If you’re not successful this time, do you see yourself running again in four years?” Attkisson asked Trump.

“No, I don’t think so. I think that’ll be it. I don’t see it at all. Hopefully, we’ll be successful,” Trump said.

The former president would be 82 years old when the 2028 election comes. If he wins in 2024, he will not be able to run again, as American presidents can only serve two terms: eight years.

Harris and Trump are in the fight of their lives with the presidential race neck and neck ahead of Election Day on November 5.

While millions of voters will cast ballots on or before Election Day, the presidential race is expected to be decided in just a handful of states that will decide the outcome.

There are seven key states that could swing either way, but depending on which candidate wins in some of the most hotly contested states, the path to victory narrows dramatically.

If Trump hopes to become the first president since Grover Cleveland to win non-consecutive terms, his campaign must make a number of changes, a leading political analyst has warned.

Douglas E. Schoen, who has worked for both Bill Clinton and Mike Bloomberg, offered that forecast in an op-ed written Saturday for the Daily Breeze, hours after appearing on Fox News to offer a similar view.

The Democratic strategist said he would still “bet on Trump” despite Harris’s recent slim lead, a stance he reiterated in the op-ed, with some caveats.

Above all, he said, Trump needs to stay focused on the issues at hand, while working harder to tie Harris to a languishing administration that only 39 percent of Americans approve of, according to recent Gallup polls.

“Furthermore, doing so would force Harris to defend the Biden administration’s record in key areas,” Schoen wrote, specifically citing “inflation, the rising cost of living, and record numbers of illegal immigrant crossings.”

‘With more than six-in-ten (62 percent) of voters disapproving of Biden’s handling of immigration, and a similar 60 percent disapproving of the administration’s handling of the economy, forcing Harris to defend her record should be the Trump campaign’s top priority.’

Trump has cheated death twice after surviving another alleged assassination attempt just two months after he was shot in the ear.

Ryan Wesley Routh faces multiple felony weapons charges after being caught fleeing the scene of his attempted assassination of the former president.

The 58-year-old is accused of pointing an AK-47 at the Republican presidential candidate through a fence while he was playing a round of golf at Trump International Golf Club.

The incident occurred as Trump’s security team has been beefed up in the two months since the former president was shot in the ear during an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.

Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on the former president with the AR-style rifle he received from his father.

The suspected killer was seen by witnesses before the shooting and the Secret Service and law enforcement were alerted to his presence.
