Donald Trump went on a wild, nearly five-minute tirade about the bulletproof glass surrounding him at his outdoor rally in Pennsylvania on Sunday.
He lamented the protective measure, but said he agreed with the fact that if someone wanted to try to kill him again they would have to “shoot through the fake news.”
The former president spoke again about how he likes to “knit” during his rallies amid continued attacks for his tangent-filled speeches that typically last more than an hour.
“Most of them are failed writers; they’re not even good writers, okay, they’re bad writers,” Trump said of the press at his rally. ‘So today they don’t understand weaving. They will never be able to do it.
At one point, during a ramble about Democratic “cheating” in the presidential election, Trump demanded that the winner be announced on Election Day no later than 11 p.m.
Trump spoke in Lititz, Pennsylvania, during his first of three rallies in swing states on Sunday.
Former President Donald Trump ranted for nearly five minutes at his rally in Lititz, Pennsylvania, about the bulletproof glass surrounding him at the outdoor event.
With just two days until the 2024 presidential election, Trump will also hold rallies in North Carolina and Georgia, which are also key states in this election cycle.
The outdoor rally in Pennsylvania included a nearly 360-degree bulletproof glass enclosure around the former president’s podium after two separate assassination attempts against him, including at his July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
For a time, Trump moved all of his rallies to indoor stadiums and arenas. When he returned to outdoor events, the increase in bulletproof glass was noted.
At Sunday’s rally, Trump said he didn’t think it was necessary to have glass in certain areas because it made him look bad on television.
“To catch me, someone would have to leak the fake news, and I don’t care that much about that, I don’t care,” he said with a smile.
“So I have a piece of glass here, and the problem with that glass is that I don’t look very good on television when you have a four-inch piece of glass that a shell can’t go through,” he said in reference. cannon style.
Trump continued, again pointing out the barrier between him and the audience: “The problem is, when they look at me tonight they’re going to say, ‘The president doesn’t look that good.'” Well, how the hell do you look good? Look at the size of this sucker.
Trump said, “To catch me, someone would have to cut through the fake news, and I don’t care that much about that,” as he lamented the placement of the thick glass barrier.
Earlier in Sunday’s speech, the Republican presidential candidate said the results should be final by the night of Election Day on Nov. 5.
The former president said Democrats are simply using any flexible hours after that date to “cheat.”
“I don’t know what’s going to happen, but for future elections, I won’t even be a part of them, but you should go to paper ballots, you should go to voter ID, and you should have ‘The elections will end at 9 o’clock,'” Trump said.
‘They told me it will take weeks. Can you imagine?’ he complained.
‘And what do you think happens during those 12 days?’ Trump questioned the crowd, to whom they responded: “They’re cheating.”
“These elections have to be decided before 9, 10 and 11 on Tuesday night.”
The former president’s rhetoric continues, accumulating claims that Democrats cheated again to “steal” the 2024 presidential election after he claimed that’s how they won in 2020.
