Donald Trump has dispelled claims that he called Fox News after Kamala Harris’ speech at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday, claiming that host Bret Baier called him.

The former president focused on An opinion piece from Saturday by New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, who may have implied that he was the one who called Baier and Martha MacCallum.

“Bret Baier from FoxNews called me, I didn’t call him, right before Kamala’s speech at the Convention, and asked if I would like to criticize her after she was done. I agreed to do so!” Trump wrote in a Sunday morning message. Truth’s social post.

He then specifically criticized Dowd, calling him a member of the “fake news” media.

The seemingly offensive line in Dowd’s article appeared about halfway through the piece, where she also attacked Trump for his numerous posts on Truth Social criticizing Harris’s live speech.

“Following the posts, he issued a call to conscience to Fox News, blocking the debate with Bret Baier and Martha McCallum for 10 minutes until Baier abruptly interrupted to pass the message to Greg Gutfeld’s comedy show,” Dowd wrote.

Many liberals, not just Dowd, seized on this moment when Baier interrupts Trump while he is still speaking and switches to Gutfeld’s late-night show.

Gutfeld even mentioned it at the beginning of his show.

Throughout Harris’ speech, Trump repeatedly called her “radical” while trying out her new nickname “Comrade Kamala Harris.”

He also attacked her for failing to mention China, fracking and energy, and said she failed to adequately address Russia and Ukraine.

His attacks on foreign policy continued, claiming that Harris “will lead us into a Nuclear World War III!”

Harris, at the podium, focused on Trump’s character, calling him “an unserious man.”

He pointed to his actions on January 6, when his supporters stormed the Capitol in an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

He also mentioned the crimes he has been accused of and the hush money case in Manhattan, where he was convicted.

Many political analysts have suggested that Kamala Harris is currently enjoying a honeymoon period after replacing Joe Biden as the 2024 candidate.

Polls still show an extremely close race between Harris and Trump, with the Republican candidate still the favorite among many to win in November.
