Donald Trump congratulates QAnon, who praises the Republican primary winner who was the best candidate he endorsed
Donald Trump congratulated the far-right challenger who supports QAnon’s conspiracy theory after defeating Republican five-term representative Scott Tipton in the Colorado primaries on Tuesday.
“Congratulations on a great victory!” sent the president in a tweet late Tuesday evening to Lauren Bobert.
“Thank you, Mr. President!” Boebert responded on Wednesday morning. “Freedom is a great motivator!”
Boebert, 33, has become notorious for defying pandemic restrictions by keeping her restaurant, Shooter Grill, open, which she gave up only after the Garfield County Sheriff was ordered to pay a penalty.
The restaurant is located in Rifle, Colorado, with a population of less than 10,000, and the hook is that it is a pro-gun establishment – as Boebert encourages its employees to open their firearms.
She is also unabashedly pro-Trump.
“When Americans are given the choice, they choose freedom and freedom every time,” Boebert tweeted the morning after her victory.
“The media wants us to believe we are the minority,” she complained. “The American spirit lives and lives. The world is watching. ‘

The president also retweeted Boebert’s approval Wednesday morning from the Christian and conservative news website NOQ Report.

@realDonaldTrump bodes well for patriots looking for stronger leadership in Washington DC, ”tweeted NOQ Report editor-in-chief JD Rucker and the president posted. “We were proud to support her earlier and we are on #TeamBoebert for the General.”
Boebert’s disrupted primary victory came Tuesday after Trump endorsed Tipton in December.
Congressman @ScottRTipton strongly supports the # MAGA Agenda! ” the president tweeted from the usually quiet congressman. “He’s fighting for your # 2A rights and the Border Wall. Scott works hard for Colorado and has my full and total approval! ‘
Tipton admitted to Boebert in an email, “District republicans have decided who they want to face Democrats in November.”
“I want to congratulate Lauren Boebert and wish her and her supporters the best,” he wrote.
Boebert is also an advocate of the QAnon conspiracy theory, which claims that there is a “deep state” agenda against Trump and his supporters.
“Everything I’ve heard from Q, I hope this is real, because it only means America getting stronger and better and people returning to conservative values,” the Republican candidate told Steel Truth, a QAnon-based web show.
Colorado’s 3rd congressional district encompasses a huge area of 30 counties, from the western boundary to almost the center of the state. But with a total population of less than 800,000 in that area, it makes up only about 13 percent of the electorate in the state.
Tipton is the third Trump-backed Republican candidate to lose his primary in the past three weeks – showing a trend toward more right-facing GOPers
Trump approved Tipton in December to keep his seat on the Congress
Boebert also made headlines after meeting former Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke during a campaign stunt through Colorado.
At a meeting at Aurora town hall, O’Roule promised to confiscate assault rifles, to which Boebert replied, “Hell no, you’re not.”
Weapons rights have been at the center of the political clashes between the more rural and urban areas for years, as new restrictions were imposed after mass shootings.
“I am a mother of four boys. My husband and I educate them to become strong men! I refuse to send my children to a socialist nation. Their freedom IS my motivator! Threat the freedom of Americans, and I’ll be there to hold you accountable! #USHouse # CO03 #HellNObeto, ‘Boebert pinned at the top of her Twitter page.
While many areas in Colorado are red, especially the rural areas in the 3rd district, the state turned blue in the 2016 elections – with about 5 percent more votes for Clinton than for Trump.
Boebert’s main win, however, shows the trend toward more right-wing conservative Republicans, rather than centrists like Tipton.
Tipton is the third Trump-approved Republican to lose in the past three weeks.
Trump also retweeted Boebert’s approval Wednesday from the chief editor of Christian and conservative news site NOQ Report, JD Rucker, Wednesday
Boebert argued during her primary campaign that Tipton voted too often with Democrats.
America is and remains the largest country in the world. Thanks, Colorado! Boebert tweeted Wednesday morning.
“This is the honor of your life,” she continued. “Now the hard work begins to take the House back in November!”
Although Boebert will not turn her seat if she wins, because it was already red, Republicans want to regain their majority in the House of Representatives after losing it to Democrats in the meantime of 2018.
Boebert will face Democrat primary victor Diane Mitsch Bush, a former member of the Colorado State House.
Mitsch Bush lost to Tipton in the 2018 election, earning 43.6 percent of the vote compared to the 51.5 percent of the incumbent.
