Both former President Donald Trump and former first lady Melania Trump announced Thursday that they will be releasing new books, separately, promoted by different publishers.
The former first lady announced that she will publish her first memoir this fall, which will tell the “powerful and inspiring story of a woman who has forged her own path, overcome adversity and defined personal excellence.”
The book, which was announced in a press release from her official office and made available for pre-order on her website, does not yet have an official release date.
The former first lady has kept a low profile since leaving the White House and is rarely seen at public events. She made her first major public appearance last week at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, though she did not have a speaking role as she did in 2016 and 2020.
According to people close to her, Melania Trump was “shocked” by the recent assassination attempt on her husband and has been preparing to send her son, Barron, off to college this fall. Since leaving the White House, she has continued to work on her BE BEST program “obtaining scholarships for children in the foster care community,” but has largely stayed out of the public eye.
The memoir, which is being published by Skyhorse Publishing, retails for $40. A signed edition is listed for $75, and a special 304-page collector’s edition is available for $150, featuring 48 pages of “never-before-seen” photographs. The collector’s edition also includes a “digital collectible, to be minted on the Solana blockchain.” Among the business ventures the former first lady has been involved in is a collection of non-fungible tokens that she has sold on her website. She has also sold jewelry and Christmas ornaments.
According to the release, “the former First Lady invites readers into her world, offering an intimate portrait of a woman who has lived an extraordinary life. Melania includes personal stories and family photos that she has never before shared with the public.”
Although the former first lady has been the subject of several books written by journalists and former staffers, she has not written any books of her own. Donald Trump has published two books since leaving office, a book of letters and a book of photographs, through Winning Team Publishing.
On Thursday morning, the former president also shared some news about his book. He’s releasing a third book, “Save America,” featuring photos from his term in office and the 2024 campaign, along with his comment that the publisher promises to “offer a glimpse into what will shape his next four years in office.” A signed edition of Trump’s book sells for $499, and the book’s cover features a photo of Trump raising his fist after the assassination attempt.
