Don Lemon angered liberals when he warned that Kamala Harris might not have large margins of black voters in her quest to beat Donald Trump.
Recent polling figures show Harris improving the Democratic nomination’s standing among blacks by double digits after Joe Biden dropped out of his re-election campaign.
But Lemon, a former CNN star and darling of liberal media, has poured cold water on that data with his recent interviews with black voters across the country.
Last week, she presented her findings to Jen Psaki, a former White House press secretary and now an MSNBC host, saying that many Black voters “don’t know” Harris and that Black male voters credit Trump for the pandemic relief checks.
“I’m not so sure the polls are accurate as far as the polling adjustment and who’s going to support who,” he told Psaki.
Don Lemon angered liberals like Jen Psaki when he warned that Kamala Harris might not have large margins of black voters in her quest to beat Donald Trump.
Lemon explained that black men, especially, were “supporting Donald Trump because he gave them a stimulus check.”
“He gave them $1,200 when he was president. Somehow they didn’t remember that the current president also gave them a stimulus check, except his name wasn’t on it,” she said, referring to Biden.
“So when they got the check and their name was on it, they automatically thought it was coming directly from Donald Trump, which I think is good marketing,” Lemon said.
Lemon, citing his interviews with Black people from the Jersey Shore to the battlefields of Pennsylvania and Ohio, said Black people don’t really know Harris.
‘In general, in Pittsburgh or on the Jersey Shore in Ohio, a lot of people didn’t know who she was. They didn’t know her.’
He then turned to Trump, saying, “With him, they thought he was better for the economy, that he brought money into the community and that he was on the side of black people.”
Lemon then complained that these voters were falling for what he called misinformation about Trump.
However, the former CNN anchor noted that many of the reasons voters cited for supporting Trump were based on misinformation.
A clip that went viral on X shows host Don Lemon interviewing strangers in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and finding that many agreed they felt more financially stable under Trump.
“I think it’s important that they understand and go to the polls with some knowledge that they are informed as voters. And for other reasons, they told me, the information was all false. They didn’t understand the right reasons why they might vote for him.”
Conservatives seemed to delight in Psaki’s bemusement at Lemon’s findings on social media.
“Psaki gets visibly upset after Don Lemon reveals voters don’t know who Kamala is and black voters are flocking to Trump,” wrote one X user. “That’s not the story. The story is that she has NO IDEA this is happening.”
Another added: “Jen Psaki doesn’t seem happy when Don Lemon tells her that most people in the battleground states don’t know who Kamala is and think Trump is better for the economy.”
A recent Pew Research The poll shows Harris leading Trump among black voters by a margin of 77% to 13%.
In the latest polls on Joe Biden’s faltering campaign, he only got about 64% of the black vote.
Harris had largely taken votes from the then third-party candidate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whose support fell from 21% to 7%.
Kennedy Jr. has since dropped out of the race and endorsed Trump, though his name remains on ballots in several states.
Harris’ numbers are still a far cry from the 92% of the Black vote that Joe Biden got in 2020, and Lemon’s recent videos show that these polls may not be an accurate representation of Black voters.

And in one cringe-inducing exchange, a voter laughs in Lemon’s face after the reporter tries to discuss her personal experience. In another instance, Lemon sensationally asks a male interviewee if his resistance to Harris is because “she’s a woman.”
Lemon’s clip, which has 2.1 million views, begins with him asking a stranger on the street: ‘Who do you support?’
The man replies: “Trump for victory.”
When Lemon questions him further, he continues: “I can’t say right now, but I feel like (Harris) is not good at being president. She’s good at being vice president, but not good at the leading role in the country.”
The journalist then asks the young man if his opinion has “anything to do with her being a woman” to which he answers flatly: “no.”
She added: ‘Because I feel like a woman, no, I’m not going to give you that.’

Lemon explained that black men, especially, were “supporting Donald Trump because he gave them a stimulus check.”
Another voter explained that “she has no experience.”
Lemon, incredulous, replied: “It’s the vice president! It’s the senator!”
A voter is then filmed telling the reporter: “I want Donald Trump. I just feel like we need someone who has a stronger background in the military and in the world at large.”
He later added: “I know nobody likes him, but we had a good time with Donald Trump. Our economy was good. Life was good.”
A fourth voter tells the reporter: “I want to support the Democratic Party, but it seems like Trump has everything under control right now.”
Lemon is heard telling two voters that “statistics show” the economy was stronger under Biden than under Trump, to which both reject his claims.
