Liverpool’s rising star Dominik Szoboszlai has revealed how Jurgen Klopp interrupted his post-season break with a welcome phone call in an effort to convince him to move to Anfield.
Szoboszlai became Liverpool’s second addition in the summer transfer window by putting a five-year contract in writing after the Premier League giants activated a £60m release clause in his deal with Liverpool. RB Leipzig.
The 22-year-old, clearly confident he will be a star at Liverpool, made the brave decision to take the number eight shirt previously worn by club legend Steven Gerrard and has now described the discussions that took place with Klopp earlier of his signing.

Summarizing the discussions they had with Klopp during a video call while on vacation, Szoboszlai said: Obviously I won’t reveal what was said during the video call, but I can say that that conversation put me at ease.

Szoboszlai, 22, explained that joining Liverpool was a “childhood dream” come true.
“As I said before my childhood dream came true, I couldn’t have hoped for more at the age of 22,” he continued.
I’m at the top of club football, but every day there’s a new goal and it’s incredibly motivating to be part of this club, to play for trophies.
‘In the next ten to twelve years, I want to stay at the level I’ve reached now, and I also want to constantly improve and become a better and better football player. This is my goal right now,’ he added.
He will be tasked with helping Liverpool recover from one of their most torrid seasons in recent memory which ended with the club finishing fifth in the Premier League and missing out on Champions League football.
