After leaving FC Bayern, Julian Nagelsmann could continue in the Premier League at Tottenham Hotspur. Superstar Harry Kane will probably have a say in the decision.
Tottenham Hotspur is going through a turbulent season. The North Londoners are currently fifth in the Premier League. The qualification for the Champions League is in acute danger. After Antonio Conte, interim coach Cristian Stellini recently had to resign.
In the search for a long-term solution, Julian Nagelsmann is said to have come into focus. As the “Football Insider” portal reports, Tottenham striker Harry Kane will have a “big say” in appointing the new head coach.
The Spurs probably want to use this special measure to persuade Kane to extend his contract. The 29-year-old is only tied to the club until 2024.
Most recently, Kane was repeatedly traded at Manchester United and Bayern Munich. It is not known whether the England captain would support Nagelsmann’s arrival.
Tottenham Hotspur instead of Bayern?
Nagelsmann was released from FC Bayern at the end of March after less than two seasons. As soccer agent Haydn Dodge writes in his column for the “CaughtOffside” portal, he heard about a meeting between the 35-year-old and Spurs boss Daniel Levy in London.
The meeting is said to have taken place in the past few days. “Nagelsmann seems to want to take the job at Tottenham,” said Dodge.
The “Football Insider” portal, on the other hand, has doubts about the 35-year-old’s signature. According to an unnamed source, Tottenham would have “no hopes” of signing Nagelsmann.
The Premier League club is concerned that the German football coach “is using his interest as leverage to secure another top job in Europe”.
