A trapped fan interfered with a potential Gleyber Torres home run

Yankees fans were enraged during the ninth inning of Friday’s World Series opener against the Dodgers when a home fan interfered with a potential Gleyber Torres home run.

With the game tied 2-2, the second baseman hit a shot to center field and it initially appeared that the ball had gone.

However, the umpires quickly determined that a fan had climbed over the wall and interfered with the play, before confirming that decision and putting Torres on second base.

Aaron Judge then jumped in to end the inning and fans were furious over the controversial decision.

‘Keep the ball in play, why would you want to catch it? DO NOT INTERFERE! Damn idiot!’ said one in X.
