A Soviet-born Swiss doctor named as head of the medical team in the birth of Vladimir Putin’s secret children with his alleged ‘gymnast lover’ Alina Kabaeva, 39, died four days before her role was made public this week .
Dr. Natalia Thiebaud Kondratieva, 63, died in Switzerland on February 24, the first anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The cause of death has not been disclosed, but it is known that she was under the care of cancer specialists. An obituary indicated that she was cremated the day after her death.
On Tuesday, she was named by Proekt’s independent media as the midwife who had been with Kabaeva for the birth of at least two Putin children in 2015 and 2019.
The Kremlin leader did not reveal to the Russian people the existence of children with Kabaeva.

A May 9, 2019, Red Square photo shows Thiebaud with two other Swiss medics who flew in around this time to assist in the birth of a Kabaeva child.
Those seen with the medic are neonatologist Petra Caterina Maria Donati-Genet and nurse Stella Ghizelu.
They are all from Clinica Sant’Anna in Lugano, where Kabaeva reportedly had another child earlier in 2015.
But it was Thiebaud who ultimately confirmed Putin’s alleged lover went into labor in Lugano.
This is reported in the Proekt report: ‘How did Swiss doctors, who came to Moscow for several days, end up in the VIP gallery closed to outsiders?
“The answer to this question is quite simple.
These Swiss women had important and secret merits for the Russian leadership.
“It was Kabaeva’s personal midwives and doctors who assisted in the birth of her children.
“It was Thiebaud and other employees of Clinica Sant’Anna who helped Kabaeva give birth in Lugano in 2015.”
And it was Thiebaud who claimed that the baby was Vladimir Putin’s.
Yet there are rumors that Putin and Kabaeva have at least one more child.

Proekt’s report looked at the Russian leader’s personal life and lavish residences.
It also introduced the “gymnaste” whose affairs with Putin have been circulating since 2008.
And it connected the dots, revealing how Putin and Kabaeva live in luxury with their children in a “royal residence” in Valdai, between Moscow and Saint Petersburg.
For years, the story remained a secret, with claims rejected and a newspaper closed that year for announcing that they were engaged.
Although it was alleged that Kabaeva had been under the care of Clinica Sant’Anna staff during her pregnancy, the obstetrician’s name was not mentioned.
It is unclear if she knew she would be named before her death.
An obituary published by her partner Giorgio Grandini did not mention her role in the birth of Putin’s children.
But the doctor Paola Rodoni Cassis, wife of the Swiss foreign minister, was thanked in her obituary.

Thiebaud had lived in Switzerland for a long time.
On social media, she posted a message in 2020 that seemed to hint that she knew Putin.
“He is the one and only daddy for all of Mother Russia!!!!” she wrote.
“Thanks for not forgetting me.”
Eleven days before her death, Thiebaud took over as head of a company called JERINA MEDICAL SA after Grandini’s resignation.
Thiebaud was a friend of Lidiya Slutskaya, wife of Russian pro-Putin nationalist politician Leonid Slutsky.
