Djokovic falls del Potro to claim the US Open title

Novak Djokovic has won his third US Open championship after a consecutive set victory over Juan Martin del Potro in Sunday's final.

The Serbian beat the Argentine 6-3 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 in three hours and 15 minutes at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Djokovic, who won Wimbledon in July, now won 14 Grand Slam titles, putting him at the level of Pete Sampras and behind only Roger Federer (20) and Rafael Nadal (17) on the all-time list.
