The Glasgow, Scotland native fell in love with music at the age of 14 when he started working at Rubadub, a local record store.
“I never had to buy any album again. So that was an obvious benefit (of the job),’ Revill told Resident Advisor in a 2012 interview.
He gushed to the outlet at the time: “It was just little things, like when promotions came around and you had first choice.”
His last performance was on September 27.
“Maybe you’d have to discuss it with one of the older buyers or whatever, but you knew you could at least borrow it for a gig or for the weekend, and that to me was really invaluable.”
At 17, Revill was determined to become a DJ after gaining popularity in Glasgow clubs.
During the more than twenty years he has spent in the music industry, the decorated producer won the Breakthrough DJ Award at DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards in 2010. He was also known for his 2014 BBC Radio residency.
Revill documented his final performance via Instagram on September 27.
