DJ Clark Kent has died at the age of 57.
The musician fought colon cancer for three years. TMZ reported on Friday.
His family confirmed on Instagram that the music producer died on Thursday along with his loved ones.
His wife Kesha, daughter Kabriah and son Antonio, also known as Mage, were with him when he died.
The New York City native, born Rodolfo A. Franklin, was an influential force in the Hip Hop community who worked with some of the biggest names in music.
A documentary about his life called God’s Favorite DJ: The DJ Clark Kent Story is in the works with commentary from Jay-Z, Questlove and DJ Khaled.

“It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of the beloved Rodolfo A. Franklin, known to the world as DJ Clark Kent,” the Instagram note said.
“Clark passed away Thursday afternoon surrounded by his devoted wife Kesha, daughter Kabriah and son Antonio,” it added.
‘Clark quietly and bravely fought a three-year battle against colon cancer, continuing to share his gifts with the world.
“The family is grateful for everyone’s love, support and prayers during this time and asks for privacy as they process this immense loss.”
In August it was announced that a new film was being made about his life.
Hip-hop radio personality Angie Martinez will make her directorial debut with the documentary Kent.
He also worked with Kanye West and Lil Pump on I Love It; seen in March in Los Angeles
