  • Her former father-in-law, ex-husband and his brother have been arrested

The model’s ex-husband, who was brutally dismembered and put in a refrigerator, reportedly “attempted to go into hiding” leading up to his arrest.

Abby Choi’s former partner reportedly planned to board a speedboat today before being arrested in connection with the death of a 28-year-old woman.

The suspect was arrested while carrying £60,000 in cash and a number of luxury watches at the Tung Chung Development Pier, it was reported.

Superintendent Alan Chung of Kowloon West Police Force told the South China Morning Mail“We think he was trying to escape from Hong Kong by sea when he was arrested.”

Both his parents and his elder brother have also been arrested following the discovery of Abby Choi’s legs left in soup pots at a house owned by Lung Mei Tsuen.

Today, an underwater search was conducted for her remaining body parts in the catchment area around Tseung Kwan O Cemetery.

The possibility of even more arrests is not ruled out by the force that understands it too.

Superintendent Alan Chung Nga-Iun added: “We are still looking for the head, torso and hands, which we thought were thrown away.”

A missing persons investigation was first launched on Tuesday after the model failed to pick up a child as planned.

During her career, Abby Choi had posed for a number of magazines, including Elle and L’Officiel.

“Someone was dissatisfied with the way the victim handled her belongings, which became a motive to kill,” Chung Nga-Iun said.

Police searched the home on Friday was reportedly set up with equipment such as a meat grinder, choppers, a hammer and a power saw.

Two stockpots containing human tissue were also found, reports suggest.

The property was then cordoned off with reportedly 20 police officers walking in and out to investigate the crime scene.

Police also confirmed earlier that a “post-mortem examination will take place at a later date to determine the cause of death” of a 28-year-old woman.

MailOnline has approached Hong Kong Police to confirm that this is Ms. Choi.
