A Colorado police officer has been fired after he was caught on camera punching a woman in the face while she was handcuffed.
Former Loveland officer Russell Maranto, 28, punched Angelia Hall, 59, in the mouth while she was being held in a hospital emergency room.
In the footage, Hall can be heard growing increasingly frustrated and angry as she sits in an examination chair while swearing and yelling at the officers and nurses who were present.
But it was when she spat on Maranto that he immediately reacted by hitting her.
Another officer in the room intervened and pulled Maranto away from Hall.

After the punch, Hall demands to see a video of what had just happened – now even more upset considering she was helpless to fight back with her hands tied behind her back.
Loveland Police Chief Tim Doran released a statement Friday in which he explained his reasoning for firing the officer, citing unnecessary use of force.
“I am sharing this video in the spirit of transparency and on a promise to hold my team and citizens who break the law accountable for their actions,” Doran said.
The chef urged the public to watch the full 90-minute body camera footage of the incident, stressing the importance of viewing the episode in its entirety.

Officers initially responded to reports that Hall wandered in and out of traffic, displaying confused and inconsistent behavior.
