A father and his son stumbled upon a dead body in an abandoned Antebellum house in Mississippi while playing scavenger hunt.
The spooky discovery came on Saturday, February 24, when the father and son duo were exploring the empty house in Holly Springs.
Holly Springs Police Chief Darryl Bowens said the owner had given the father and son permission to search for treasure on the property.
What they found was much more shocking and disturbing than a treasure chest.
The dead man’s body was found in the living room of the home on East Van Dorn Avenue.
A father and his son stumbled upon a dead body in an abandoned Antebellum house in Mississippi while playing scavenger hunt.
The body of the deceased was found lying near a window, according to reports WLBT3.
“This house has been abandoned for a long time,” the father said. “At least 20 years or so.”
In the video, the father pointed to the windowed door at the top of a set of leaf-covered outside steps and explained, “This window here is broken, you can see.”
“The curtain is drawn and the screen torn off,” he described, adding that the state of the window seemed “strange” to him.
He said he saw what appeared to be “someone deceased” on the ground next to the damaged window.
