A terrifying figure has appeared on the side of dark, lonely Nebraska roads to try to lure accident victims into his car.
Several people traveling on Highway 36 outside Bennington were shaken after hitting objects in the road and spinning out of control.
Its horrors have only been exacerbated by a mysterious figure who has constantly appeared at the scene in the immediate aftermath of the incidents.
It always happens at night. His car was seen parked at a nearby intersection with the lights on but the engine off, apparently waiting for the victims.
On Saturday night, Garrison Beach was traveling on Douglas County Road when he had to swerve to avoid a piece of metal in the middle of the asphalt.
While doing so, he overcorrected and his Toyota Camry ended up crashing into a wire railing and tumbling down a ravine, with his wife Skylar riding shotgun.
However, their nightmare had only just begun, with the strange figure discovered by the pair standing at the top of the ravine immediately after their horrific accident.
Recounting the strange encounter, Harrison said WOWT: ‘As soon as we got out of the car, I remember walking down the embankment and this guy appeared.

On Saturday night, Garrison and Skylar Beach, seen here, were traveling on the Douglas County Highway when they had to swerve to avoid a piece of metal in the middle of the asphalt.
“He was already there, waiting for us on the side of the road and (said), ‘Are you guys okay?’ “I already called the paramedics.”
The man asked them to wait for emergency services inside his own vehicle, which they had seen at an intersection with its lights on, apparently monitoring the road.
The bewildered couple refused, with Skylar telling the outlet, “It was very strange.” He was there when we got out of the car.
‘As our car was in the ravine, no one would know we were there. It was strange how quickly he appeared, as if he had seen it all happen.
‘As soon as we said, “No, let’s wait for the police,” he just walked back to his car.
‘It was quite scary. I remember screaming and wasn’t sure when we would start filming, but we were lucky to come out of the accident unscathed.
Garrison recalled, “I didn’t want to (crash) head-on into a big piece of metal in the middle of the road at 55 to 60 miles per hour, so I just tried to swerve out of the way.”
The man left the scene before they could get his name, but it appears this type of behavior has occurred before on the exact same stretch of road.
It always happens at night and he always seems to be around when it happens.
The man asked them to wait for the emergency services inside his own vehicle, which he had spotted at an intersection with its lights on.
Sklyar told the outlet that the couple wanted answers about what was going on.
Kyle Sorenson told an almost identical story of the Beach couple, when their vehicle collided with a children’s bicycle that had been left in the middle of the road.
Sorenson recalled to the outlet that immediately after colliding with him, the man appeared behind him in his vehicle.
He told the outlet: ‘I hit a child’s bicycle that had been left right in the center of the road. As I looked in the rearview mirror, I saw someone sitting on Pawnee Road.
“They pulled up behind me and it was an individual saying he was checking to see if we were okay.”
After seeing little damage to his vehicle, Sorenson left the scene unharmed, but his wife later saw the man following a car that was leaking oil on the road.
Sorenson added: “In two weeks, there have been three incidents where he was immediately the first person on the scene.”
After Garrison and Skylar’s accident, Sorenson, who is their close friend, decided to report the matter to the police.
He said: “I didn’t really want to confront the person, but I informed the police.” “I don’t want to accuse and say that this person is doing this at all, but I want to let you know that this is strange.”

After similar incidents, the Beaches are now wondering if the metal they swerved to avoid had been deliberately placed there by the man who offered them help.
Skylar said, “We definitely want some answers as to why he’s doing what he’s doing.” We just don’t want this to keep happening to other people, or for something even worse to happen to them.’
It has since also emerged that an unnamed couple collided with a wooden kitchen chair standing in the middle of the stretch at the end of October.
The couple spoke to WOWT and said a man in his 20s showed up right after the crash to see the damage. They say they fled the area quickly and did not get a name.
The Douglas County Sheriff is now investigating the multiple incidents of objects in the driving lanes and says they believe they have a potential suspect.
County Sheriff Aaron Hanson said, “Over the past 30 days, the Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a concerning trend of obstructions being placed on roadways in the Bennington area.
‘We have a potential suspect in mind and are continuing an investigation at this time. We have a topic of interest that we are focusing on.’
