The WACH FOX Sports host arrested for possession and distribution of child pornography purchased graphic videos and images of a girl between the ages of 11 and 13 and was identified by police through his Gmail account, according to investigators.
Matt Vereen, 28, a weekend talk show host and sports reporter for affiliate WACH FOX 57 in South Carolina, was arrested Wednesday and charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
Authorities found a photograph on his computer of a child in a “sexually explicit state of nudity,” according to the disturbing arrest warrant.
In the image, the young woman had her legs spread and her genitals were visible through transparent panties. Her right nipple could also be seen through a transparent white blouse, the court order added.
Investigators tracked Vereen through Gmail records, Apple records, ISP records, and another record that was redacted.

Another warrant stated that Vereen purchased a one-minute, 32-second video of a naked 13-year-old girl standing over a camera, “exposing her bare breasts” and genital area.

The warrant also said he purchased a one-minute, 16-second video of a 13-year-old girl “naked in the bathroom and twerking” while exposing her body.
Vereen has worked as a sports anchor and reporter for WACH FOX 57 for nearly three years, and previously worked as a sports anchor and reporter for KOLR, a news station in Springfield, Missouri.
The Instagram verified journalist frequently documents his entertaining lifestyle and has been photographed with popular sports stars, celebrities and coaches.
He has also shared his jet-setting life with his hundreds of followers, as he posted several images of himself in Europe on vacation in 2023.

The 28-year-old has also hit the court and course, with his most recent Instagram post showing him posing with a golf club and some friends on the green.
Investigators discovered he had purchased child pornography and that one of the images showed a girl with her “legs spread wide” while her genitals were visible through “transparent panties.”
He often shares photos of himself with his family and also with his co-hosts, Matt Dowell and Amanda Poole.
Following reports of his disturbing arrest, WACH FOX 57 said it “understands the seriousness of these allegations” and noted that Vereen “has been suspended pending an investigation.”
“As this is a personnel matter, the station will not be commenting further at this time,” a spokesperson for the news station said. WIS Television.
The Alvin S. Glenn Bail Court has since confirmed that Vereen was released on $40,000 cash bail.
Under the conditions of his release, Vereen is not allowed to have personal internet or social media access outside of work or have contact with a minor without adult supervision.
Robert Kirk, communications director for the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office, told DailyMail.com that no court date has been set for him because “it’s too early” in the investigation. He faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
