Disney’s Famous Dole Whip Ice Cream is FINALLY Hitting Grocery Stores Next Month

Disney’s famous frozen treat, Dole Whip, is FINALLY hitting grocery stores next month, so what’s YOUR favorite flavor?

  • This April, the treat that was once exclusively available at Disney parks will be available in the frozen aisle.
  • Over the years, additional flavors have been added to the standard pineapple Dole Whip, which consumers will be able to make at home.
  • It’s unclear exactly when in April Dole Whips will make its supermarket debut.

Dole has announced that it will finally make its famous Whip available in the frozen section of grocery stores this spring.

The gift, once exclusively available at Disney parks, will soon be available for customers to enjoy in their own homes come the warm season.

Consumers will be able to purchase the pineapple, mango and strawberry flavors of the dairy-free dessert.

Dole Whip is now considered a staple of the Disney parks, and some travelers even plan trips to Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida specifically to sample the ice cream.

In April, Dole will launch a supermarket line of Dole Whips in pineapple, strawberry and mango flavors.

Over the years, the conglomerate has introduced several innovations to the popular frozen treat, including new flavors such as watermelon, lemon, lime, orange, raspberry-lemon swirl, chocolate, and vanilla.

Part of the appeal of the popular snack is the customer’s ability to customize the treat in a waffle cone, cup, or as a drinkable float, with the option of adding alcohol.

The rack version of the snack will allow fans, and those who have never had the pleasure before, to customize the whips in any way they choose from the comfort of their own kitchens.

Some of the famous options worth trying for a DIY version include the pineapple upside down cake, which, you guessed it, is a dole whip on top of a mini upside down cake.

There’s also a Sparkling Sunshine Float, served with Orange Custard Ice Cream and Apple Cider, Barq’s Root Bear Float, Simba’s Sunset Strawberry Pineapple Swirl, Frozen Margarita with Dole Whip Lime, and Habanero Lime Galley Shack Swirl served with tequila.

At Aloha Isle in the Magic Kingdom, where Dole Whips were first served, employees add a splash of coconut rum to the soft serve to order, a poolside option suitable for any temperature this summer.

The option may be especially useful this summer, as Disney park admissions soar to all-time highs.

Each pack will include four cups of the fruity summer snack and the brand plans to announce more details pinpointing where the cups will be available to buy closer to the release date.

In addition to its famous smoothie dessert, Dole also announced other new products for grocery stores, including smoothie bowls, pineapple juice drinks and more.

Over the years, many add-ons and flares have been created to give consumers the ability to customize their Dole Whips, like the one pictured here, which appears to be a classic Dole Whip served over orange or pineapple juice.

During the COVID-19 lockdowns, which brought all Disney parks to a close in April 2020, the House of Mouse made the decision to share the recipe for the iconic treat.

In July 2022, the company released an updated recipe in honor of Dole’s National Whip Day.

The basic recipe is relatively simple to recreate, involving just three ingredients: about a half cup of pineapple juice, two cups of frozen pineapple chunks, and a cup of dairy-free vanilla ice cream.

Once all those ingredients are mixed together, you have a DIY whip. But come April, even that simple recipe won’t be necessary to get your own Disneyland-style dole whip.
