It was once considered the happiest place on earth, but according to one very disgruntled Disneyland guest, the once-beloved theme park has all but lost its magic.
A Reddit user took to the website to criticize the iconic park, saying exorbitant ticket prices and long wait times have become so “atrocious” that visiting the tourist spot is no longer worth the “effort or money.”
“Literally everything is a queue,” the user complained in the Unpopular opinion subreddit. “I’m going to the bathroom, Tails. Want to eat? Queue. Want to buy a souvenir? Queue. Want to preview something? Queue…’
The upset visitor went on to say he experienced a wait time of “20 minutes (to) 1 hour” at the park – and that wasn’t even for the rides.
The Reddit user took to the website to criticize the theme park, saying the exorbitant ticket prices and long wait times weren’t worth it.
“We purchased a genius pass+, it was just enough to get us on a few rides. The only attempt we made to ride without the genius pass, we waited in line for 2 hours just to get the ride breaks down,” they said. . “Of course, Disneyland doesn’t do rain checks unless you have a fast pass…”
The final straw for the most disgruntled visitor on the planet was the quality of the rides he managed to go on.
“The nail in the coffin is that Disneyland doesn’t really offer things that other theme parks don’t offer anymore,” they lamented.
“Their ride technology and themed areas are comparable to places like Universal Studios (which are less than half the price),” they continued. “Any advantage they have in quality is completely diminished by the sheer number of people and lines you have to constantly compete with.”
The disillusioned Disney fan said he also observed that people didn’t notice details or work being done in the park when there were hordes of people.
“I just don’t see that the money or the effort is worth it anymore,” they said simply.
“It’s pretty obvious that Disney’s popularity continues to skyrocket and ticket prices continue to rise,” the user continued. “So the park is only going to get more expensive and busier.”
Thousands of Reddit users commented on the post, with many agreeing that the cost of the famous park has spiraled out of control.

Reddit users shared their own experiences visiting Disney theme parks, with many agreeing the cost and wait times were out of control.
“I took my kids last year and the crowds were unbearable,” admitted one Reddit user. “We went to Knotts Berry Farm this year and had a much better time.”
Others said they noticed a difference in the time spent visiting the park.
“Dad is a career actor, so I grew up going there all the time. I’m 28 and I can’t take it anymore. Even if it’s not as crowded on a day when you go, no one better stop and enjoy things or admire the details and everything, anyway, the whole atmosphere that distinguishes Disney is completely ignored. It’s inherently frustrating.
“Honestly, I think it also depends on WHEN you go,” another pointed out. “Avoid during the summer holidays when all the children are out of school, probably also during the holidays. I’m going there on a Monday instead of a Saturday.
However, others recognized that while it is an expensive – and sometimes long – day, it is worth it.
“It’s definitely too expensive. But I was just there last week and we still had a great time,” admitted one happy Reddit user.

A Canadian father of two took to TikTok to criticize the park, calling Disney “the greatest money printing machine on Earth,” adding that the lines were too long.
“Rise of the Resistance is the best non-roller coaster ride ever created. Haunted Mansion (Nightmare Edition) and Pirates have never looked so good.
“Park dining options have never been better. Like legit good food instead of just eating something and thinking “at least I’m not hungry anymore”.
The Reddit user isn’t the only one criticizing Disney for being the most expensive place in the world.
In August, Canadian father-of-two Mario Zelaya revealed on TikTok the exorbitant cost of a visit to Disneyland Paris, calling the theme park a “money-grabbing machine.”
Mario revealed that he spent $1,200 on tickets just for his family because he advised people to avoid Disneyland.
“Here are the rules of Disney,” he captioned the now-viral post.
“Expect extremely long wait times. If you don’t want to wait in line, expect a huge bill to upgrade to a Premier Pass,” he wrote. “If you decide to wait in line because the Premier Pass doesn’t cover all rides , still expect a huge bill.”
The outcry comes as Disney revealed it had increased the price of some of its theme park tickets by a whopping 10 percent.
Ticket prices for peak days at Disneyland in California were raised from $178 to $194, an increase of 8.9 percent.
Meanwhile, the cost of annual passes will increase from $40 to $50, with the parks’ premium Incredi-Pass now costing $1,449, up from $1,399.
