Disney was forced to recall millions of copies of a classic animated film after it was accidentally released with an X-rating error.

During a scene in The Rescuers, there’s a glitch in the animation that left parents gasping: “This will traumatize my kids!”

The 1977 film follows the Rescue Aid Society, an international mouse organization dedicated to helping abduction victims around the world.

Mice Bernard and Miss Bianca are on a mission to save orphan Penny, who has been captured as a prisoner, sparking a wild journey around the world.

During an epic adventure scene in which Bernard and Miss Bianca were creatively riding a sardine can train, they sped past an apartment block.

But eagle-eyed viewers spotted a mischievous scene in the children’s clip as the two mice darted past a topless woman in the window of one of the apartments.

During a scene from The Rescuers, there’s a glitch in the animation that left parents gasping: “This will traumatize my kids”: A topless woman was seen in a passing window (blurred above).

How the X-rated image made it into the animation remains a mystery, but the original version was pulled in 1999 for changes as it contained the “objectionable background image.”

All families who purchased the video after its release were asked to return it to Disney’s video distribution wing at Buena Vista Home Entertainment in Carson, California, USA.

The discovery of the X-rated image shocked viewers when one Disney fan wrote on Reddit: “This was one of my favorite movies growing up.” I never knew about this until a few years ago.

‘Whaaaaaaaa?! I never realized this!!!!’

‘Oh God…thank you for reminding me of this creepy movie. I will watch it with my children and it will traumatize them too. According to tradition. Jajajajk’.

‘Many people saw this and even own this and still have no idea about it. I would say that most people who own this VHS have never heard of this. It happened just before the internet was strong enough for everyone to find out.’

The film’s synopsis reads on Disney Plus: ‘Join the shy but brave mouse Bernard and his glamorous companion Miss Bianca, two little heroes on a big mission to save a young girl named Penny, who has sent out an urgent call for help.

‘Taking off on the wings of their faithful albatross friend Orville, Bernard and Bianca soar into the swampy swamp of Devil’s Bayou.
