Disney is working on a film centered on the character of Prince Charming with director Paul King.
The British filmmaker, 46, is collaborating on the film’s script with Simon Barnaby and Jon Croker, according to reports Deadline.
The film’s main story has not yet been released publicly and it was not immediately clear whether the film will be animated or live-action, the outlet reported.
The upcoming film “will not be specifically tied” to the Cinderella character, the story in which he was featured searching for the princess with his glass slipper, sources told Deadline.
Prince Charming has appeared in several classic fairy tales, including Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel, often placed to rescue a female protagonist from harmful forces or people. The character is usually peripheral and not the featured character.

King’s directing credits include 2023’s Wonka, 2014’s Paddington and its 2017 sequel, Paddington 2.
Wonka was a box office success for Warner Bros., as the film (starring Timothee Chalamet in the title role) grossed $218 million in domestic box office receipts and $634 million worldwide. box office mojo reported.
