Disney announced a revamp of its theme park attraction queueing program to allow guests more freedom to plan ahead.

Walt Disney World has unveiled an overhaul of its theme park attraction queue schedule to allow guests more freedom to plan ahead.

In its latest update, guests can now choose their park attractions up to a week in advance, whereas previously guests had no choice but to make their selections on the day of travel.

The park add-on, currently called Genie+, will be renamed Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass beginning July 24.

Multiple passes will allow guests to select up to three attractions at a theme park on the day of the adventure, while the single pass will allow guests to choose a time to ride individual attractions.

Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel will be able to select their attractions up to seven days in advance, for their entire stay up to two weeks. All others can use their passes up to three days in advance.

The new pass names will take effect at theme parks in California and Florida.

However, Disneyland in the Golden State will not have access to advanced features, meaning they will only be able to select their attractions on the same day.

Guests will be able to select time slots to ride top attractions including Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Space Mountain, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, Slinky Dog Dash, Tower of Terror and more.

“Lightning Lane Passes will combine features from our current services and the previously offered FastPass+ service, giving guests the option to plan ahead and taking the hassle out of planning during their vacation,” said the House of Mouse.

‘These advance purchase windows will allow guests to lock in some of their must-see trips and experiences after they’ve had some time to decide what dining reservations they want to make and any other plans they may need to consider.

“The app will also be updated to make purchasing and planning faster and easier, with fewer steps and a new option to purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass and Lightning Lane Multi Pass in one transaction.”

Pass prices vary by date, theme park and attraction. Beginning July 24, guests will be able to view the new costs on the My Disney Experience app.

Disney announced in February that it would raise prices for some of its tickets by 2025 as the company plans to invest nearly $2 billion in renovating its Anaheim theme park.

The company announced plans to invest $60 billion over the next decade in its parks and cruise lines, as revealed in an SEC filing in September of last year.

Multiple passes will allow guests to select up to three attractions at a theme park and select their times, while the single pass will allow guests to choose a time to ride individual attractions.

As part of the investment, Disney World’s Magic Kingdom will undergo its largest expansion to date.

In January, Disney announced detailed plans to renovate its Anaheim theme park in California and incorporate new attractions, shops and restaurants within the existing 490-acre space.

If approved by Anaheim city leaders, the project could introduce new attractions inspired by beloved Disney stories such as Frozen, Peter Pan, Tangled, Toy Story and Zootopia.

The $1.9 billion allocated will go toward “theme park lands, attractions, hotels, shops and restaurants west of Disneyland Drive and in the Toy Story parking lot,” according to the Orange County Register.
