A mom has been left feeling sick after realizing exactly how dirty supermarket fruits and vegetables can be.
Amy Hitch shared a clip of herself using a fruit and vegetable cleaner from Amazon with disturbing results.
It shows her placing the scrubber in a bowl of tap water with grapes.
Within minutes, the bowl filled with dirt and grime. Amy then shows a similar result after cleaning blueberries.
I seriously bought this fruit today. I did grape twice!! I can’t! I will never go back. What the actual hell!!! She wrote on the now viral video clip.

The US-based mom’s video went viral on TikTok where it has been viewed more than 27 million times.
She narrates the segment “What the hell is this all about”.
“This is what we eat,” she adds, before smiling.
This is so disgusting. We need to watch what we eat.

The people’s reaction to the murky water was soon one of disgust.
One wrote, “Thank you for raising awareness of this.”
Another added, “Oh my God, I had no idea… I just give them a quick rinse under the sink.”
A third commented: “Running to get one now.”

Others, however, were less shocked, some commenting how obvious it was as to why the vegetables were covered in dirt.
“Do people forget that fruits come from the earth?” one said.

The $32 product claims to “quickly remove residue on food and freshen fruits and vegetables in a matter of minutes.”
Amy is one of many Tiktokers who have used the product, with many claiming that it “changed their lives” and “shocked” them.
However, others called it “a solution to a non-existent problem” and suggested that people clean it with vinegar instead.
