Disco Elysium: The Final Cut on PlayStation has some bugs that need to be investigated

Disco Elysium: The Final Cut an upgraded version of one of 2019’s most acclaimed titles, which hit consoles last week with the game’s release on PlayStation 4 and 5. But fans looking forward to finally giving it a try Disco Elysium on console (myself included) have encountered a lot of bugs and developer ZA / UM still hasn’t released a promised update.

Most bugs are minor but annoying, such as fussy controls or voice lines not firing when they should. (The latter is particularly frustrating given that every line of dialogue should be uttered, and it is a new change for The final selectionBut players are also reporting a bigger problem: some important quests cannot be completed at all. (Last night I came across one of these bugged quests myself.)

On March 31, a day after the game came out, ZA / UM split what’s coming in the 1.2 update, including smoother operation and solutions to “various” voice-over problems. But the developers still haven’t said exactly when the patch will be released, and we don’t know if it will address everything that has been reported.

I like it Disco Elysium: The Final Cut so far a lot, despite the bugs. But if you’re thinking about getting it on PlayStation, I recommend waiting for ZA / UM to fix the issues before picking it up.
