Disaster looms for Anthony Albanese as younger voters’ support for the Labor Party plummets in Western Australia and New South Wales, according to a new poll.

Newspoll results show that while Labor leads 52-48 in terms of two-party preference, it has lost 6 per cent in its election result in WA and is falling in New South Wales.

However, support for the federal Labor Party has declined in Queensland.

Men and younger voters appear to have swung towards the Coalition, with Labour’s traditional lead eroded significantly in a 10-point swing towards the Liberal Nationals.

The Prime Minister desperately hoped to get things back on track in 2024, after months of shaky election results following The Voice, a rollback of tax cuts and the growing cost of living crisis.

But the Coalition and Labor are evenly split between men at 50-50 for the first time, marking a 31 per cent drop in the Labor Party’s primary vote since the end of last year.
