Unhappy diners blew up a branch of KFC, slammed into “ripe greasy food”, and called it the worst in the UK.
Among the poor on Tripadvisor write ups for the restaurant In Chestfield near Whitstable, Kent, is the 101 one star rating.
The branch’s overall rating is 1.5 stars, with disgruntled customers sharing their discontent with the “terrible” food and “dirty” interior.
Others bemoaned the way they regularly take wrong orders, and the “rude” staff, with some saying the outlet sometimes closed unexpectedly.
‘Terrible as usual,’ writes one reviewer, ‘on the few occasions I’ve had the pleasure of visiting KFC it’s always been a disappointment.

Either you pay by closing / in the store closed / they ran out of something / slow service or bad food. This time I couldn’t order at the screens so had to wait until (it took forever), I couldn’t use any offers from the app and the food when I got it had the wrong sauce in it.
If this is a franchise it should be removed, if it is a corporate store then shame on you. This site is seriously harming the KFC brand.
Another 1 star write up said: ‘Worst place ever I’ve never used you again Rude staff needed training Food was terrible I don’t know what’s going on here but it’s not the first time we’ve had a bad meal from here but thought we’d try Again but not again.
They were given “disgusting” food, another reviewer wrote: “Just picked up a family bucket of ten. Got home to find eight of them drumsticks! Great if you only like drumsticks, but other than that, this is really poor.”
To add insult to injury, the other two pieces were just a disgusting, dripping greasy mess. Overall, the whole meal was poor. I advise others to avoid it at all costs unless they don’t care what they eat or are just desperate for food. Yak.
Meanwhile, another mentioned the unexpected closing of the drive-thru restaurant, as well as making comments about the cleanliness of the branch.
They wrote: “Read an article recently that called and debunked your local KFC. KFC said they are working on it and it got worse! It’s dirty in there with used napkins and food on the floor.
The counters are dirty. Two of the order screens are broken. The place needs a thorough cleaning. Piles of chips under grill rack spoil everywhere again.

One unhappy reviewer shared a photo of the chicken they received from the outlet, saying it was undercooked
“The chips were cold and a small portion and the chicken was over cooked and poor.” Just to add to it, the drive thru is closed “but I have to say the traffic cones outside that prevent the drive thru from” are the cleanest thing on the site! Don’t go please don’t go!!!
Another accused the restaurant of giving them undercooked chicken, writing:I bought a boneless box to share with the kids as a family treat.
First, the staff was rude – and told us they ran out of gravy and corn (Wednesday night at 6pm). When I asked what alternatives were there because the menu wasn’t on full display the response was rude.
Then when we got home the chicken was not fully cooked and had a rubbery texture – we couldn’t actually eat the meal.





Out of 101 1 star reviews those who accused the restaurant of being dirty, undercooked food and rude staff.
The only item that seemed to be properly cooked were the hot wings I paid for – but they were way too cold.
Inside the takeaway bag, the chicken strips were not properly in the box and the chips were all loose in one big bag.
Now I hope I don’t get food poisoning from the chicken I bit into before realizing it wasn’t cooked.
“Definitely avoid.”
However, some reviewers have left more positive comments, with 11 restaurants writing proudly with five stars and seven with four stars.

Among the happy diners, one writes: ‘I rarely write reviews, but upon reading all the negative reviews on here, I felt compelled to put down a couple of bucks. I was honestly surprised by what I was reading here. I’ve used this KFC three times in the past two months and found it no different than any other KFC I’ve used.
Another said, “My family and I visited this restaurant and I must say the service was excellent, and the food very tasty.”
Meanwhile, a third wrote, “Yesterday I went for a takeaway on a Friday night and Brandon catered it, which was very helpful because I don’t go to Kentucky often and didn’t know what a meal was big enough for an adult.” The store is very clean, I got it home and order it was right, hot and delicious.
