Brummer was set to return to court in 2012 when he was accused of attempting to bite and kick Crown Melbourne guards outside a Logies after-party.

Arrests: Just months after winning a Zilveren Logie in 1995, a 19-year-old Brummer pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis but escaped conviction. In August 2007 – around the time he started working as a window cleaner – he was charged with mid-range drink driving after measuring a blood alcohol level of 0.125 near his home in North Bondi at around 2:40 am.
He was invited to attend Nine’s official postal celebrations after playing corrupt cop Trevor Haken in two seasons of crime drama Underbelly.
A spokeswoman for the Victoria Police Department at the time confirmed that a Bondi North man had been charged with willful injury, reckless injury, unlawful assault, debauchery and drunkenness in a public place.
Brummer’s lawyer Andrew Dickenson later claimed in court that he acted only in self-defense when five guards stopped him.
In 2012, Dieter returned to court after he was accused of trying to bite and kick Crown guards outside a Channel Nine Logies after-party.
Brummer starred in Home and Away from 1992 to 1996 and later had roles in hospital drama Medivac and crime series Underbelly: A Tale of Two Cities.
He also had roles on Winners & Losers, Neighbors and soap opera Crash Palace.

“People say I’m just a window cleaner. In reality, it’s considerably more involved than that. Working at heights is a relatively specialist profession,’ he said TV tonight Apr 2010.
Brummer said he could use his mountaineering skills in his new profession, and was grateful for the “life experience” it had given him.
“I just wanted to get some life experience, but I always intended to return to acting someday,” he added.

Brummer was known for being quietly private and relatively little is known about his romantic relationships.
He had a secret relationship with fellow Home and Away star Kristy Wright during the ’90s.
When he retired from acting, he dated actress Ashley Fitzgerald, whose TV credits include Blue Water High.

His death is not treated as suspicious and is suspected of suicide.
“About 1:30 p.m. (Saturday, July 24, 2021) officers from The Hills Police Area Command were responding to reports of concerns about the welfare of a home on Glenhaven Road, Glenhaven,” a police spokesman said.
“A man’s body was found in the house. His death is not considered suspicious. A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.’
