A man who allegedly filmed women using a disabled toilet at a Perth university has been brought to justice for the first time.
Police allege that between August 2023 and February this year, Didier Loïc Labonne, 28, used a stolen key to access the service area behind the toilets at Notre Dame University and used a cell phone to record women using the facility.
Mr Labonne appeared in the Fremantle Magistrates Court on Monday charged with three counts of unlawfully installing a surveillance device, three counts of trespassing and one count of theft as a servant .
Police allege that between August 2023 and February this year, Didier Loic Labonne, 28, used a stolen key to access the service area behind the toilets at Notre Dame University and used a cell phone to record women using the facility.
He was charged by detectives from the Child Exploitation Operations Unit in February after a cellphone was allegedly found in a university toilet.
“The accused (…) was previously employed by an external service provider providing hygiene services at the university,” the police said at the time.
He was not required to plead guilty and is due to reappear in court on April 29.
