Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has launched his third attempt to get out of jail as his defense claims he is innocent and the sexual encounters were “all consensual.”
The embattled rapper’s legal team has filed new documents, obtained by DailyMail.com, arguing that the music mogul is “not a threat to the community” while he is behind bars on extortion and sex trafficking charges.
Combs has denied any wrongdoing and has pleaded not guilty to the criminal charges.
In a previous hearing, a federal judge in New York denied him bail because Diddy allegedly tried to contact witnesses.
In the appeal filed today, Diddy’s attorneys said he contacted a potential witness with the approval of that witness’s attorney.
Combs is currently being held at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center awaiting trial after two of his bail requests were denied.
Combs faces charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and interstate transportation for prostitution.
Diddy’s lawyers also claimed that several witnesses actually called Diddy, and not the other way around.
The appeal mentions an anonymous victim, but according to the details, the victim mentioned is Cassie because she is talking about the video that was leaked shortly after she solved the case.
Diddy’s legal team said in the bail application that their client is not a flight risk, despite what prosecutors have said.
He also agreed not to contact any further witnesses and to submit to weekly drug tests.
On appeal, Diddy’s team argued that the case had been “sensational.”
They also claimed that Diddy has demonstrated his willingness to comply by handing over his passport, selling his private jet and offering his $48 million home to secure bail.
Several lawsuits have been filed against Combs, including allegations of sexual assault.
The USAO will have time to respond to Diddy’s appeal, but it will most likely not be heard in court this week.

Buzbee said more than 3,280 people contacted his firm alleging they were victims of Combs and that after examining the allegations, his firm decided to represent 120 people. Other cases are still under review. He said some of his clients have spoken to the FBI.
The people Buzbee’s firm represents are from more than 25 states, mostly from California, New York, Georgia and Florida.
The alleged abuse took place primarily at parties held in New York, California and Florida, where people were given drinks laced with drugs, Buzbee said.
Some of the alleged conduct took place at auditions where “many times, especially young people, people who wanted to get into the industry were forced to engage in this type of conduct with the promise of becoming a star,” Buzbee said.
