The U.S. Olympic team will be looking to impress again in Paris this summer, with the all-conquering nation expected to rival China at the top of the medals table.

The team will arrive in the French capital in style, after collaborating with global fashion brand Ralph Lauren to dress the 592 athletes competing in Paris for the opening ceremony.

The U.S. team will travel down the Seine River on boats before the start of the event, dressed in a navy blazer with red and white details, as well as a striped Oxford shirt, a navy tie and light denim jeans.

However, eagle-eyed social media commentator Miss Double Bay has pointed out that the Team USA uniform bears a striking similarity to the uniform of one of Australia’s most elite private schools.

Cranbook School is an all-boys school based in Sydney where students wear navy blue uniforms with white and red details, like the new Team USA uniform.

The boys also wear navy ties, although the shirt is light blue, unlike Team USA’s striped option.

Athletes will wear a navy blue jacket with white and red details.

“If I were Cranbook, I’d call my lawyers,” he joked on Instagram.

NBA legend LeBron James will lead the team in Paris after being named the country’s official flag bearer for Friday’s ceremony.

“It’s an incredible honor to represent the United States on this global stage, especially at a time that can bring the entire world together,” James said.

“For a kid from Akron, this responsibility means everything, not just to me, but to my family, all the kids from my hometown, my teammates, my fellow Olympians and so many people across the country with high aspirations. Sports have the power to unite us all and I’m proud to be a part of this momentous moment.”
