A glamorous dog lover whose body was found floating near a beach on the NSW Central Coast drowned, unveiled an autopsy.
Devora Howard's body, 56, was discovered last Tuesday on a boat ramp in Terrigal, with few clues as to how she ended up there.
But a post-mortem found Mrs. Howard drowned, excluding suicide, which was seen as a possible cause of death.
Detective chief inspector Steve Laksa said that officers & # 39; were still trying to identify the circumstances that led her into the water – whether it was an accident or suspicious & # 39 ;.
He said that officers had a & # 39; substantial & # 39; amount of CCTV and witness statements had to drag through.
The police ruled the death of Devora Howard (pictured on the right with a friend), 56, was not suicide but that she drowned
Mrs. Howard's body was found by fishermen in the water of Terrigal Haven last Tuesday at 7 am.
Her beloved Doberman dog Harvey was found howling on the nearby beach about an hour earlier.
She was last seen around 10 o'clock in the evening by a neighbor who saw her go home from another house in their quiet street.
Mrs. Howard & # 39; s sister Karen Wardle-Bacic posted on Facebook and said she was stunned by the drowning death: & We also don't know what happened to her … she was happy, lively and healthy, now she's gone. & # 39;
Mrs. Wardle-Bacic previously wrote on Facebook that she & # 39; not in a good place & # 39; was after the death of her sister.
In a smiling picture of Mrs. Howard, Mrs. Wardle-Bacic said that she was just trying to put her foot in front of the other & # 39 ;.
& # 39; I have broken into millions of pieces, I have lost my backbone, my hero, my best friend, & # 39; she wrote.

Devora Howard's sister (photo of Mrs. Howard) said that she and her family were stunned by the death of the woman and told friends that they were happy, alive and healthy … and now she is gone.
& # 39; She was beautiful inside and out and just wanted to help everyone & # 39 ;, she wrote.
Mrs. Howard was recently divorced from her husband Peter and investigators said the woman had formed a close friendship with her neighbor Dylan Carter in recent weeks.
The visibly upset man, who according to the locals is a & # 39; eligible bachelor & # 39; was comforted by several friends outside his house on Thursday afternoon, while the police continued to merge the last moments of Mrs. Howard's life.
Carter denied that he and Mrs. Howard had a new relationship.
& # 39; We were friends, & # 39; said Mr. Carter.
Her estranged husband, who is reportedly moved about a month ago, returned to the couple's house on Wednesday to comfort her mother.
When Mr. Howard arrived at the Pacific Street house, he and Mrs. Howard shared until recently, he was too upset to say much about the death of his estranged wife.
& # 39; We just want peace and quiet to mourn. Whatever the police say, that's it, & Howard said.
There is no suggestion that Mr. Carter or Mr. Howard had anything to do with Mrs. Howard's death.
Mrs. Howard missed a gray woolen sweater that she reportedly wore when she first went into the water, and it still needs to be repaired
Mrs. Howard was last seen on Monday from a neighbor's house at around 10 p.m.
A day after her body was found, detectives were seen as Pacific Street, where she had lived, was walking around, talking to neighbors, and especially asking about it.
The next day, officers were seen in a nearby lagoon, looking for a clue about what had happened to the popular woman.
Many locals seemed confused by the presence of her beloved Doberman Harvey, who barked about an hour before her body was found & # 39; angry barking & # 39; was on the beach at Mrs. Howard's house.
Neighbor Jim told Daily Mail Australia that Mrs. Howard had lived with her elderly mother in the luxury beach house and that her husband & # 39; a month ago & # 39; was separated from her.
& # 39; She was always nice. She was always doing something away from work – cleaning the house, he said.
Jim said he believed Mrs. Howard might have been taken aback and could not imagine that she would have taken her own life.
& # 39; For her to take her dog there – she loves her dog – if you are going to say it will be … I can't see why she would take the dog down if she does that, & # 39; he said.
& # 39; It's terrible that. I even missed her this morning – it's just someone you see, you'd look up and she'd be there. & # 39;
