Police have now revealed that they are investigating whether the baby’s death was the result of foul play. It has not been confirmed whether the baby’s parents will face charges.
The couple was in the water with Tanna and her sister on July 5 when she became unresponsive.
The family quickly began performing CPR on the baby before the Lake Havasu City Fire Department took over.
Tanna was taken to Havasu Regional Medical Center before being airlifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where she later died, just days shy of her fourth birthday.
Although the cause of death has not yet been revealed, authorities believe it was caused by heat-related illness.
