But instead of lectures and crisis talks, Thomas Tuchel ordered his players to take a three-day break after the surprising bankruptcy in Mainz. The Bayern stars are free until Wednesday, an “urgently” needed measure, as a visibly battered Tuchel explained on Saturday.
Müller feels “emptiness and helplessness”
Nagelsmann’s successor added: “We’ve been going through the program for three and a half weeks without a day off. I don’t think we look fresh. That’s why we need a little distance.” There is currently a lack of “energy”, says the 49-year-old, “and we won’t get it if we all call in and keep going”.

For Thomas Tuchel, meanwhile, there will probably be further analyzes in the coming days, as he could not find an explanation after the unresisting crash in the second round against Mainz. “I don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see what that means, but we find it incredibly difficult to win games,” said Tuchel on record.
