A desperate search for an elderly swimmer who disappeared on rough surf has now been canceled.
South Australia Police and water operations began rinsing the area near Horseshoe Bay after 11:30 am for the 70-year-old victim.
The man is supposed to be a fixed value at the popular swimming spot and has not been seen since 9.45 am.

He had parked his car near the local cafe and when he did not return, the local authorities contacted the authorities.
Local police, CFS, SES, Victor Harbor Goolwa Sea Rescue and Chiton Surf Rescue along with a fixed-wing aircraft assisted in searching until 6 p.m.
The search is expected to resume at 7 a.m. on Sunday.
