Staff separate two men as they collide on the flight returning to London Gatwick on Tuesday.

This is the moment a desperate EasyJet captain implored a topless passenger to sit down and wait for police after forcing a landing in Athens due to the disruption.

The video showed how the rioter argued with other travelers before being removed from Tuesday’s flight from Türkiye to London Gatwick.

The cabin crew and another passenger can be seen trying to calm the situation, while shouts of protest can be heard in the background.

‘For the people who are fighting, the police are waiting for us at the door. You’re only making things worse for yourself. Please sit down,” the captain says over the loudspeaker.

Passengers are visibly upset by the unnecessary delay, one woman shouts at the man: ‘You’ve screwed us all, you idiot. “You have screwed us all.”

Staff are seen trying to dress the man as he shuffles down the aisle towards another passenger who meets him in the middle.

The staff also try to guide the topless man back, pointing down the hallway.

But when the captain warns them to calm down, the man walks down the hallway to receive more abuse from his white-jacketed adversary.

The man in white appears to sarcastically applaud the captain’s voiceover before being led back to his seat by another steward.

Passengers are clearly frustrated by this point and are shouting at those causing the delays.

A caption superimposed on the original TikTok video reads: “Return flight from Türkiye diverted to Athens because kids can’t handle the drink.”

In the background, the woman shouts again: “You’re a bully.”

The topless man finally gives up and sheepishly walks to the back of the plane with the stewardess.

The clip was shared on social media yesterday with the caption: “On flight back to Gatwick from Antalya, plane is diverted to Athens due to topless guy.”

“The other guy gets involved and ends up getting kicked out too. A big thank you to the flight attendants, who did amazing.”

Viewers chimed in with their own experiences and irritations.

One wrote: “I hope easyJet billed them thousands of dollars for the diversion for all the money they lost.”

A second commented: “It’ll only be a matter of time before they ban drinking because of melted people like this who can’t have their drink.” If we jail them, they might think twice.

Another said: ‘Airlines should have a lifetime ban. “Once you’ve done that with Ryanair and easyJet, you’ll have a lot less choice when it comes to going on holiday.”

A fourth added: ‘Why do Brits revolve their lives around drinking, drinking, drinking?’ This is what ends up happening. I’m not generalizing, but that’s why alcohol is not the way.’

Another joked: “Imagine the pilot taking kindly care of you when you return from your holiday.”

An easyJet spokesperson said: “Flight EZY8558 from Antalya to London Gatwick on 1 October was diverted to Athens and was met by police after landing due to two passengers engaging in disruptive behavior on board.

‘easyJet cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.

‘Although these incidents are rare, we take them very seriously and do not tolerate disruptive behavior on board.

“The safety and well-being of passengers and crew is always easyJet’s top priority.”
