Six children were left stranded on a mountain overnight as emergency services race to guide them to safety.
The children and an adult called for help after getting lost on a trail near the Upper Logan Trail at Mount Barney in south-west Brisbane on Thursday about 7.50pm.
It is understood that the group went off the trail and got lost.
Emergency crews arriving at the scene in southeast Queensland’s Scenic Rim region were unable to guide the hikers off the mountain.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics have set up camp in the area and remain on standby until Friday morning.
No one is believed to have been injured, according to reports from the mail.
A QAS spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia that paramedics are waiting to treat one of the hikers at a base they have set up.
“We have not had contact with the patient, we are at a base waiting for him,” the spokeswoman said.
“It has been a very difficult exit from the forest, they (the hikers) have needed a lot of help from other agencies.”
It is understood that emergency teams, including the SES, are involved in the rescue mission.
Daily Mail has contacted SES for comment.

The latest rescue operation comes after a man walking through the mountains was rescued last Saturday.
Paramedics were called to the scene at around 11am after a man in his 30s suffered injuries to his lower leg.
A rescue helicopter transported him from the summit to the ground around noon before he was taken by ambulance to Boonah Hospital in a stable condition.
The rescue effort was hampered due to the weather and difficulties emergency crews encountered while trying to get the man to safety.
Mount Barney is the highest peak in Mount Barney National Park with a height of 1,354 m and is the second highest peak in south-east Queensland.
The rugged terrain along the 16km trek route takes up to 10 hours to complete, making the trek a challenging task.
The park has dozens of peaks that give this World Heritage site the picturesque landscape it is known for.
The site is a popular attraction for hikers and hikers alike.
