A desperate call to 911 made by a friend of rapper Mac Miller the night he died has been released.
The tape, which is heavily censored, features a male voice calling on emergency services to rush to the 26-year-old Los Angeles home, TMZ reported.
Miller was found dead by an apparent overdose on Friday, with police sources claiming he had died of an overdose hours before his arrival.
You hear the man who called 911 crying, suggesting that he knew the interpreter was in a sorry state.
It is not known if the man was with him at that time, as he told the dispatcher who had spoken with Miller "yesterday."
A friend of Mac Miller is heard calling on emergency services to "hurry up" and cry as he warns authorities about the rapper's condition
The call was released after reports reported that the police suspected how long Miller had been dead before arriving home, and how little drug paraphernalia was on the premises.
Police sources say that Miller had been dead long before the emergency services arrived at his home in Los Angeles, and only a small trail of white dust was found, which led them to believe he had been swept.
While officials believe that the rapper died of an overdose, the sources say that the condition of his house did not make sense, because a person who had had an overdose would not have the foresight to clean his house of drug paraphernalia.
Mac Miller died on Friday of what authorities believe was an overdose. It is believed that the rapper was dead for hours before his body was discovered by friends (at a performance at the Orpheum Theater in Madison, Wisconsin, in 2016)
Emergency services invaded his home in Los Angeles after they found Miller unresponsive in his room. Since then, sources have revealed that his house had been practically swept out of drugs and paraphernalia when they arrived, which does not correlate with his alleged cause of death.
A full toxicology report will not be finalized for four to six weeks, which means that, despite the authorities' preliminary findings, Miller's death certificate still declares his cause of death "deferred."
The sources also told TMZ that they believe the interpreter died hours before arriving on the scene after calling 911.
Initially it was thought that he suffered a cardiac arrest, but that could be due to the fact that the emergency caller did not realize that he was already dead.
