DeSantis mocks Biden’s embarrassing fall by wishing America recovers from the president’s policies

DeSantis pokes fun at Biden’s embarrassing fall, wishing him a ‘speedy recovery’ – but also hopes America recovers from the president’s policies

  • The governor of Florida told a crowd in New Hampshire on Thursday that he wished Joe Biden well after the president fell on stage at an Air Force event.
  • DeSantis then added, “We also wish the United States of America a speedy recovery from the injuries sustained as a result of Joe Biden and his politics.”
  • DeSantis, 44, used the rest of his speech to accuse Donald Trump of failing to deliver on his promises to the American people

On Thursday, Ron DeSantis mocked Joe Biden for tripping on stage at an Air Force event, saying he wished him a speedy recovery – but also wishes the country “a speedy recovery from injuries. suffered because of Joe Biden and his politics”.

DeSantis was speaking during a campaign stop in Rochester, New Hampshire.

Shortly before, Biden, 80, tripped over a sandbag on the Colorado Springs stage and fell to the ground. He was helped and uninjured, continuing the rest of the event.

“We hope and wish Joe Biden a speedy recovery from any injuries he may have sustained,” the Florida governor said.

DeSantis was significantly less worried than Donald Trump, who learned of Biden’s fall during a campaign stop.

“He really fell? ‘Well, I hope he wasn’t hurt,’ the former president said on the campaign trail in Iowa, when told of the 80-year-old’s fall years.

Images of Biden being helped to his feet after his trip will raise further concerns about his age and health in his second run for president.

‘This is all crazy. You must pay attention to this. Even if you have to tiptoe down a ramp,” Trump added.

Trump was referring to when he left the stage at the West Point military academy three years ago and appeared to move cautiously up the ramp.

DeSantis, 44, used his Thursday speech to accuse Donald Trump of failing to deliver on his promises to the American people during his time in the White House.

The Florida governor made his remarks after suggesting he would need two terms as commander-in-chief to complete what he calls the “great American comeback”.

A reporter asked the recently declared Republican presidential candidate about Trump’s claims that he could tour the country within six months of entering the Oval Office.

A visibly irritated DeSantis replied, “Why didn’t he do it in his first four years?”.

DeSantis has been embroiled in a series of testy media back-and-forths since his botched Twitter launch with Tesla billionaire Elon Musk.

Earlier in the day, he clashed with a reporter from the Associated Press who asked him why he hadn’t taken part in a traditional question-and-answer session with voters at an event in Laconia, New Hampshire.

Shortly after the heated exchange, one attendee asked the Navy veteran how to correctly pronounce his last name before asking for a selfie.

The former congressman has flipped between “Dee-Santis” and “Deh-Santis” since announcing his tilt for the White House.

And Trump used his Truth Social platform earlier, mocking his former protege after his own campaign team refused to say how it should be pronounced.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said, “If you can’t make a name for yourself, how can you lead a country?”

DeSantis made a stopover in Rochester, New Hampshire, where he delivered a scripted speech almost identical to his address in Laconia earlier in the day.

He spoke out against “woke ideology” and criticized the Biden administration for overspending.

“Washington DC doesn’t produce much except mountains of debt and piles of hot air,” he told an audience of some 500 residents.
