A doctor has lifted the lid on the one thing you should have in your bathroom – and why the lack of it is probably causing problems with your bum.
She recently detailed why toilet paper could be giving you a rash and revealed the product that could take the hassle out of bathroom breaks.
At the beginning of the video, she says, “Here’s why everyone should use a bidet. Now, before you read on because you find it uncomfortable or gross, hear me out.”
Dr. Scott then compared wiping your butt with toilet paper to wiping your “dirty hands” with a “dry paper towel.”
“That’s what we do when we use toilet paper. It’s a dry area and we use dry paper to clean it,” he said, noting that a bidet was more “environmentally friendly.”
The dermatologist also praised the health benefits of using a bidet.
“They offer better hygiene, clean the skin better and leave less bacteria behind, and as a dermatologist, they are much gentler on the skin and cause much less irritation compared to toilet paper,” she said.
Dr. Scott also said they have been shown to help prevent hemorrhoids and urinary tract infections.
At the end of the clip, she admitted that she bought her first bidet “a few years ago” and can’t imagine life without it.
People on the web flooded the comments section and praised the doctor for his advice.
